Retention Eyelash Extensions Course Training

What is Lash Retention?

Dec 18, 2023

Lash retention is a measure of how long eyelash extension bonds last, or remain bonded after application.

Ideally, client’s eyelash extensions should outlast the life of their natural lash. This means, that the lash extension should remain bonded to the natural lash, even after it sheds from the follicle.

It is ok to see natural lashes adhered to the extension after they fall out.

The shedding cycle of natural lashes is every 60-90 days, shedding 3-5 per day per eye. Everyone has a brand new set of eyelashes every two to three months.

In addition to use correct bonding techniques, there are other factors of application that can influence retention, such as products used, environment and styling choices.
